We are the Anglican church in the village of Ellel where you will receive a warm welcome. Every week we have Communion and a bible-centered sermon. There is something for children every week.
Jesus taught that we should love one another as He has loved us. We would love to extend Jesus' example of love to you. Whoever you are, you are welcome at St John's Church.
Whether you regularly attend church, whether you've never been before, we want to extend an open invitation to you to come to St John's.
You will receive a warm welcome and we extend our hospitality to all who come to stay and have a drink and a biscuit after the service. We hope that you will quickly feel like part of the family of the Church at St. John's.
St Mark
Dolphinholme
Lancaster

St Mark's is a friendly, welcoming church which seeks to share the love of God with our local community and the wider world.
A church was originally built for the mill workers of Dolphinholme but lasted for only 60 years. It was replaced by the current church, designed by the famous architects Austin and Paley, in the 14th century Gothic style, and consecrated on the same site in 1899. The design of the church is enhanced by the quality of the light entering through its clear windows, reflecting the simple beauty of the church. The churchyard, which has been recently extended, delights the eye with crocuses and daffodils each spring.
We look forward to welcoming you to our church and the beautiful area in which we live and work.
If you have any questions about our church, our worship or about weddings and baptisms please send us an e-mail from the Contact page.
